HELLO AUSTRALIA

my first art opening was very nice) all guests i was expecting were there, i've got many flowers and many kind words, thank you my friends for ur support and love)) see you all on my new exhibitions and i sincerely hope there will be a lot!!

MY DEBUT

tomorrow is a very important day of my life - i will have my first personal art exhibition! it will take place in a cafe, it will be very small, only friends will come, but still i feel very nervious and unconfident! wish me good luck))

THE BEST OF RUSSIA

just for you to know - the president of russia at the moment is not mr putin as some of my aussie friends suppose) it's mr medvedev, and it turned out that he is keen on art! on these photos dmitry medvedev and sofia trocenko, the hear of the russian art center winzavod, are examining the artworks of the best of russia photo exhibition.

JEAN MARC BUSTAMANTE

i spent this evening in the cultural foundation ekaterina at the opening of jean marc bustamante's personal exhibition. the project has been carried out as part of the program year of russia and france, 2010

the artist himself lookes as if he is taking a nap while others are representing the exhibition))

this fansy lady looks like an art object herself, but she is just a common visitor))

the floor in one of the gallery halls is covered with such objects on the carpets, the installation is called the continents.

i liked this one - three big plexiglass panels decorated with colors. made a foto of the middle part of it)strawberry as a sweat addition to the exhibition) looks so french, don't you think))

THE BALLETS RUSSES

the state tretyakov gallery has a very nice exhibition at the moment, it's dedicated to the centenary of famous russian ballets, more often called in french - the ballets russes, that were performed under the directorship of sergey diaghilev between 1909 and 1929 mostly in france and great britain. here are my favorite artworks from that exhibition:

ART SPUTNIK

today i visited the opening of the tsym art sputnik fair, where everybody could buy some contemporary russian art as a new year present starting from 200 euros. well, if i had spare 200 euros this evening i'd probably brought smth from olga soldatova artworks from beads, they are so beautiful! however the price on them must had been heaps more then 200 euros))

FASSBINDER

several days ago i was at the opening of rainer werner fassbinder installation. it was held at moscow contemporary art center winzavod. the project consists of 14 parts of 1 movie, about one hour each. so if you want to watch all movie it will take about 15 hours, which is sad cause it's pretty cold at winzavod in winter and i could hardly spent half an hour there) it would be better if such exhibition was organised in summer on some open area where u can spent the whole weekend watching all episodes one by one)

DEAD BY DAMIEN HIRST

today we drank nice absolut coctails at the damien hirst exhibition opening in moscow triumph gallery. 30 printed skulls of different colores each one of 15 copies, this time without any dimonds but this is due to the cryses i suppose) 

RUSSIAN DESIGN SHOW

about one year ago i was working in the organizing committee of the russian design show - international art and design event. it was a great project to work at, we organized russian master-classes of frank gehry, arne quinze, nina campbell, alain moatti and the guys i completely fell in love with - fernando and humberto campana! it was also a great opportunity for russian audience to see the artworks of rolf sachs, arman, tom dixon, david adjaye, herve van der straeten, zaha hadid and many many others!

the essence of the project was to decorate 6 houses of one gated community with the artpieces we've brought from the galleries all over the world such as albion gallery, sebastian+barquet gallery, galerie italienne, carpenters workshop gallery, contrasts gallery, galerie kleo etc. there were 6 theme houses - ecohouse decorated by giancarlo alhadeff, designer's house, russian house, nina campbell house, alain moatti and henri riviere house and a house, decorated by phillips de pury and company.

NEOPEPPERSTEIN

this artwork i've dedicated to the 3rd moscow biennale of contemporary art, it was inspired by one of the main project's paintings american whale and black square by pavel pepperstein. i uses badges for artists as a background, torn the invitations for the main project opening for the lines in the right side, used stickers with artists names for one side of the corner, and printed artworks of pusto project for the other. newspaper used in the upper corner is with article about biennale, and the 'eye' was made from the pin that was made for biennale visitors by afisha publishing house. black square in the middle in a fragment of invitation for the special biennale guest opening - present-past by olga chernysheva. 

LUC TUYMANS IN MOSCOW

it's me on the opening of luc tuyman's exрibition in moscow art space baibakov art projects, which is located on the ex-chocolate factory red october - it is now tunred into the art area because goverment moved all factories away from the city closer to the suburbs. on the one hand it's very right, but i live in the area of this factory and when i was a child i used to pass that embankment where it stands on my way to school an if the wind was right it always smelled like chocolate)) and i stopped there and smelled it like charlie from roald dahl's book)) good memories))

1ST POST))

today, on the 1st of november, 3rd moscow biennale of contemporary art has been officially closed. it started on september 25 and was supposed to last till 25th of october, but due to the extraordinary amounts of people willing to attend the main project in the center of contemporary culture garage, it was a bit prolonged. i was working in the organizing team of the main project, curated by jean-hubert martin, also helped spencer tunick to organize his moscow shooting, worked in press center of biennale and made a media campaign of the first russian excibition of luc tuymans, organized by baibakov art projects. unfortunally i didn't have time to make blog during the biennale, but that was the time when i realised that moscow is becoming more and more close to the world art prosesses, and i decided to share some arty news from russia, we have lots of things going on here))
